Wells Fargo, in partnership with the Mortgage Bankers Association, is offering individuals a significant opportunity to receive free, high-quality training for a mortgage banking career. If you take advantage of this training, you may qualify for a pre-application meeting with Wells Fargo to discuss potential career opportunities.

The Mortgage Career Paths program consists of a course track that focuses on a particular area of the industry and prepares you to begin your new mortgage career.

The Mortgage Loan Administration Servicing Track consists of courses that prepare you for a career in mortgage servicing. The track consists of three required courses and an elective course. Choose a fifth course from the alternate course list and earn an Achievement Certficate in Residential Loan Administration. To be considered for a pre-application meeting with Wells Fargo, qualified candidates must successfully pass the three required courses and one elective in the Loan Administration track with a 75% or a better.

Qualifying for the Program
Below you will find out the answers to all of these questions regarding how to start your new mortgage career.

If you are not currently employed in the mortgage industry, have or are about to receive a college degree, are seeking responsibility, and have an interest in entering an industry that invests in America’s communities, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage will try to help you reach your goals. It doesn't matter where you are in your current career.

The Mortgage Career Paths program is accepting applications from college graduates, or those anticipating graduation within the next 12 months. This initiative is designed to provide an educational opportunity that introduces college graudates to a mortgage banking career.

Successful candidates must pass the four required courses from the Loan Administration track to be considered for a pre-application meeting Wells Fargo.

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the program:

  • Not currently employed in the mortgage industry
  • A graduate of an accredited four-year college or a candidate for a degree from such an institution within 12 months
  • Interested in a career with a top real estate financial services company

Successful candidates will be provided a username and password to access their courses. Students must pass four courses from the Loan Administration Track to be considered for a pre-application meeting with Wells Fargo.

What is CampusMBA?
CampusMBA is the educational arm of the Mortgage Bankers Association. CampusMBA offers a comprehensive residential and commercial real estate finance curriculum to industry professionals. CampusMBA offers students web-based and print-based distance-learning courses and classroom-based programs, including the School of Mortgage Banking. CampusMBA also offers industry recognized professional designation and certificate programs.

The Mortgage Career Paths program consists of a prescribed distance learning curriculum. When you login to www.campusmba.org, you get much more than a Web site – you get access to an interactive educational community dedicated to the real estate finance industry.

When do I take the courses?
Once you have received notification from CampusMBA that your course enrollments have been processed, you may begin taking the courses at any time. You will have eight months from the registration date to complete all of your courses.

Where do I take the courses?

We realize that many of our applicants will have demanding schedules that will limit their availability to travel to an actual classroom. That’s why these Web-based self-study, self-paced courses can be taken at your convenience – from the comfort of your home. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection and you can access your courses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What's the value of earning an Achievement Certificate?
An Achievement Certificate is the first step toward earning one of the most highly regarded designations in the industry - the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB). As our industry values professional development and education, show us what you've got and be equipped to meet a new career challenge.

What do I do when I've completed the course work?
Return to the Next Step tab on the Mortgage Career Paths Web site. Submit a completed Personal Data Form advising that you have successfully completed the training program. CampusMBA will forward your Data Form and coursework information for scheduling of career discussion meetings. Students may have to provide proof of college graduation or intention to graduate according to the eligibility terms of participation.

Students are guaranteed a pre-application meeting. This contact may take place by phone, e-mail, video-conference or in person. The student and Wells Fargo can have exploratory talks about the institution, its application process and potential employment opportunities. There is no guarantee that a student will obtain employment in connection with this program. There is also no guarantee that an opportunity will be located in the same geographic area as the student. All hiring decisions will be made by Wells Fargo based on their policies and practices in place at the time.
